How to Register – Non-UW Students
To register for Summer Quarter as a non-UW student for the Seattle campus, just follow the steps below.
For details on how to register for Summer Quarter at other UW campuses, visit the UW Tacoma Non-matriculated Students page or the UW Bothell Non-matriculated Students page.
Step One: Find Your Class
Summer Quarter offers nearly 2,000 courses to choose from. For help finding the course or courses that are right for you, see the Courses & Programs page.
Step Two: Apply to Summer Quarter
When you're ready to register for classes, apply online using the Summer Quarter application. Submit the $80 nonrefundable application fee.
Step Three: Set Up Your UW NetID
Once your application has been processed, you'll receive an email with your student number, Private Access Code (PAC) and registration instructions. The email will tell you how to set up a UW NetID (University of Washington Network Identification). Your UW NetID and password are how you access your UW information and other online services. You'll need a UW NetID to register.
Step Four: Register
Once you have your UW NetID, you can use MyUW to register online for your Summer Quarter courses. Need help? Learn how to register using MyUW.
Be sure to register early – registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. See Key Dates & Deadlines.
Note that enrollment in Summer Quarter does not constitute admission to the UW. To apply for admission as a degree-seeking student, visit the UW Office of Admissions website.
Step Five: Pay Tuition and Fees
Once you've registered, visit the Tuition & Fees page for UW Summer Quarter tuition costs. For payment instructions, see information from Student Fiscal Services. For a full list of tuition deadlines, see the Academic Calendar.
