Alert

In order to put safety and health first, not only for our community, but for the public we serve, the full and A terms of Summer Quarter will be offered remotely. No decision has been made about B term, which begins on July 23, 2020.

Remote & Campus Courses

In a typical summer, the majority of Summer Quarter classes meet on the UW campus in Seattle or at UW Tacoma and UW Bothell. But because of the COVID-19 pandemic, most campus-based Summer Quarter courses will be offered remotely and not in person this summer. Only the B Term may be held on campus (decision pending).

How Remote Learning Works

Remote learning can vary from course to course. At the start of the course, the instructor and class will establish some norms for teaching and learning remotely. You can expect some real-time meetings via Zoom during the regularly scheduled time of your class, as well as some asynchronous learning. Watch this video about using Zoom for remote learning at the UW.

Find Your Course

You can search for available courses using the UW Time Schedule or UW MyPlan. Note that a class location may be listed even though the class is being offered remotely.

UW Time Schedule

The UW Time Schedule shows all courses available on the UW Seattle campus during a specific quarter, with courses broken down by individual college and academic department, such as the College of Arts and Sciences. To use the Time Schedule, click on the college name at the top of the page, then select a subject to see all the courses offered during Summer Quarter. Click on a course title to view its description in the course catalog. Separate time schedules list courses for Summer Quarter at UW Tacoma and UW Bothell.

UW MyPlan

The UW MyPlan site is an academic planning tool that allows you to search for specific course topics and titles. You can filter your search by quarter, campus location, days and times. Click on a course title to view detailed information, including course description, prerequisites, class days and times, location and instructor name. To login to MyPlan, you’ll need to use your UW NetID, Facebook account or Google account.
